Picture Framing
We specialise in framing photographs, watercolours and prints and offer a "choose at home" service, at no extra cost, which allows you to choose the type and style of frame you want in the comfort of your own home. Using a laptop computer and specialist software, we are able to present a realistic view of the finished article before you commit to a specific mountboard colour, style and frame combination.
We recommend the use of conservation framing materials whenever possible - the use of pH neutral materials, including tapes, mount and backing board means that you will enjoy images framed by the Full Picture service for many years to come without the worry of discolouration of your treasured art work due to acidic materials, dust, moisture or any other form of attack.
When it comes to picture frame glazing, we offer a number of different products including standard float glass, anti-reflection glass and the latest innovation in glazing technology - Denglass® Water White - the clearest picture glass available
Mount Cutting
One of the most cost effective ways of framing your own pictures is to use an existing frame - maybe a standard size frame purchased from a retail store. The problem is of course that you may not have a suitable mount to fit both the frame and your picture. It could be that the mount which came with the standard size frame has the wrong size "window", not enough windows or that the mount colour is not to your liking. No problem - let us have your requirements and we will cut a mount to suit. This includes double mounts, mounts with stepped corners.... let us know what you want or ask for advice, we are happy to help.
Image Preparation and Printing
We use Adobe Photoshop in order to prepare digital images before printing. Our experience of using this industry standard software enable us to present your photographs exactly as you want them. Colour, black and white or a mixture of both - you decide the effects you want.
Old photographs? We can digitise and enhance these before printing and framing. Take a look at an example of work done here
Mirrors
Bevelled mirrors and standard plane glass mirrors can be supplied either framed in your choice of moulding - maybe to match framed artwork - or else unframed. There are no stock sizes for plane glass mirrors - tell us what you want and we will cut to size. Bevelled mirrors have 25mm bevels and are available in 15 stock sizes from 10 x 8 inches (254 x 203mm) up to 48 x 36 inches (1220 x 914mm).
Choose at Home
Selecting the right frame for your picture can be very difficult when you are only presented with samples of frame mouldings and corner pieces of coloured mountboard to hold up against the art work.
Using specialised computer software, The Full Picture enables you to visualise the final result in a more realistic way and answers the question "What will it look like?" by actually showing you. We aim to make sure that you get the results you want and expect from a supplier who cares about quality and customer requirements..
Take a look at the examples presented below which were prepared during a meeting with one of our customers. Please bear in mind though, that colours presented over the Web are not true representations of the real colours - the images here are intended to help you understand how The Full Picture operates.
First of all, a digital photograph was taken of the art work - an Egyptian Papyrus sheet obtained on holiday. In this case, the customer wanted to display the rough and uneven edges of the work. A number of different combinations of mount board and frame moulding were presented on the computer screen and as the customer allowed us to take a photograph of where the frame was to hang in the home, we were also able to show what the finished work would look like once hung on the wall. How long did this take? Around 1 hour from start to finish. Selection 1
Mounted on black mountboard with a gold frame
Selection 2
Mounted on red mountboard with a Twilight Blue window and gold frame
Selection 3
Mounted on a blue mountboard, a red window and walnut frame
What will it look like on the wall?
An image to show what selection 2 would look like when hung on the customer's wall
The final result
A
photograph of the work as it now appears in the customer's home - excuse the rather poor lighting - this photograph was taken at an angle in order to avoid too much reflection from the camera flash light.
Choose by EMail
Send us a low resolution JPG image of your art work together with its dimensions via EMail and we will let you have some framing suggestions in return. These will be images showing your art work in a number of different frames and mount styles. Let us know if you have any specific requirements and we will endeavour to fulfill them. If you wish, you can also send us a photograph of where the frame will hang in your house - but remember to let us have the dimensions of the actual space shown in your photograph. |
